Tactical Data Integration with JBoss Teiid

In this screencast, recorded at the recent JBoss Virtual Experience 2009, Chuck Mosher and Ken Johnson  present the architecture of the JBoss data virtualization platform and provide an overview of some of the new work Red Hat is doing in this area.

Also known as an abstract data layer, an information grid, or an information fabric, data virtualization integrates data from multiple, disparate sources. Regardless of structure or location, it brings them into a unified, logical, virtualized data layer for consumption by portals, reports, applications, and services. Data virtualization is increasingly recognized as a better way to integrate data when there is a need to access real-time data, increase the tempo of development, and substantially lower both development and long-term maintenance costs.
