Enabling SOA Security and Access Control

Some of the challenges in building an SOA come when a company acquires other organizations that may have a different technology, or SOA written in a different language from a different vendor.  Another challenge is extending the architecture outside of their enterprise boundary, because security is needed even more than before.  

Blake Dournaee is the product manager for Intel's SOA Expressway.  Right now, he says there is a convergence of the RIA (Web 2.0 applications) and the SOA world.  The SOA provides a lightweight mediation that can pull from many different datasources in different formats to produce a rich front-end.
